Huntington results
Results for this year’s Harry Brinkman Memorial Regatta are now available for viewing. We had a good turnout, nice weather, and some fantastic racing. You can download the results in either PDF or Excel formats.
We hope everyone had a great time at Huntington this year and we hope to see you at our race in Beaverton, Michigan on June 30!
Beaverton race circular posted
The race circular for the Return to Beaverton Championships is now available for viewing and download over at the APBA website.
This event will feature all Modified Outboard classes and Antique C classes, as well as AXS Hydro and J Hydro.
We plan on having three days of racing in two that weekend.
It should be a great time and we hope to see you there!
PRO classes at Huntington
This is a quick note about Huntington. In addiction to the Antique C classes from the PRO category, we will also have 125cc Hydro and 175cc Hydro at Huntington this year. If we have enough boats to make a class, we will run them. See you there!
Register Before a Race
The following link will take you to a website which contains a digital entry blank which allows you register for any IOA race. The forms are pretty self explanatory but, below are a few instructions which should help answer any questions. Keep in mind that if you are not an IOA memeber, you will also need to purchase an IOA membership. There is a separate choice on the home page that will allow you to join the IOA. There are also additional instructions at the bottom of this page on how to become a member.
Steps for registering
- On the home screen, select which race you plan to attend. Each race category contains an address and a map to that particular race site.
- Select from the drop down menu, whether you will be racing one day or two and SO/MOD or J/AX.
- Fill in the necessary information that is found on a typical entry blank. i.e. name, age, apba number, etc…
- Below the general information contains another dropdown menu which contains all classes running at that particular event. Keep in mind that you will not be able to register for multiple classes on this page. You will need to submit the same form an additional time for each class you plan on running that weekend.
- The last part of the entry is filling out the necessary emergency and safety information. Once again, this is the same as typically seen on a paper entry blank so use your best judgement on whether who you list as an emergency contact will actually be at the race.
- After clicking the submit button, it will take you to a page that gives you a summary which we reccomend you print for your entry confirmation. After printing this page, click the “confirm confirmation” button.
- The next page is the payment page. Unfortunately the only online payment we can accept at the time is paypal. If you do not have a paypal account, you will need to create one in order to pre-register. If you are unable to create a paypal account, we will accept a check. The payment page gives an address to where to send the check. Just be sure that the check arrives at least 48 hours before an event date.
Become an IOA Member
- The page that allows you to register to be an IOA member is of the same format as the entry blank.
- Instead of selecting which category you will be running from a dropdown menu, you will be able to select either a racing, J/AX, or general non-racing membership.
- Fill out the necessary personal information and submit the membership form.
- On the next page confirm that the information is correct.
- The final page is the payment page. Just like with registering for a race, the only online payment we can accept at the time is paypal. If you do not have a PayPal account, you will need to create one in order to pre-register. If you are unable to create a paypal account, we will accept a check. The payment page gives an address to where to send the check. Just be sure that the check arrives at least 48 hours before an event date.
- Don’t be alarmed if you are unable to join at this point in time. Anyone can still join the IOA at any sanctioned race in the morning at Registration.
IOA Pre-registration
The Indiana Outboard Association will soon offer an additional way to register for a race. Any APBA member will now be able to register for an IOA race from this website. The benefits of this is that we will now be able to post a preliminary role call of who will be racing what classes. Hopefully by seeing that a particular class has enough boats to race, this will spark the interest of other local racers from that particular race’s region. As we all know, more boats means more fun for you and more entries for us. We encourage everyone who is able to pre-register to do so. By doing this it will not only attract more racers, but it will make registration on race day go smoother, which will get us on the water quicker. We plan to have pre-registration up and running for our first race in Huntington this year so check back soon for updates and instructions on how to take advantage of this convenience from the internet.
